Pastel and water-based paints - AquaBrique
Recently working on this charcoal study I used AquaBriques:
- As crayon lines
- As raw strokes of green and raw sienna on the flesh
- As dilute washes on the hair and the foreground.
I think this is a good example of using them in three ways. What's good is you can work into a charcoal drawing with strong contrasts and colour. I
chose this viewpoint because I liked to see the model's hand against
her hair.

I hope you have liked
the pictures so far. If you liked any of them enough, you can buy the
original: £100 unframed plus P & P. Email me for more

Anyway, please let me know what
you think by commenting either on the blog or by email to me at the
address above. As we did last year we will raffle away two prints
among those who comment. So start commenting for a chance for a
prize.!)
